Tara was down at Hagrid's hut, taking care of the multitude of creatures that lived there. She had just finished brushing out and feeding the Niflers and was moving on the the large Fire Crabs (an amusing creature, especially since it looks nothing like a crab. Actually it's a large tortoise with jewels embedded in it's shell). She was polishing the largest ones ruby-covered shell when she all of a sudden felt very warm and uncomfortable. Tara went to turn, a bad idea. Tara let out a scream of pain and fainted.
********************************************************
Tara woke up, very sore. She could only see through one eye, as a bandage covered the other.
"Oh! She's awake!"
The voice sounded familar...Sam?
It was Sam. He came into view soon enough, followed by Hagrid.
"What happened?" she asked.
"Well, one o' them fire crabs wen' an' turned on ya," Hagrid explained, "I don' know why. They usually a friendly lot. The other also started t' scorch after, but I gotcha out in time."
"A lot of your upper body and face were burnt, but Madam Pompfry said she can mend it all," Sam said.
Tara sat silently. This shouldn't of happened. The fire crabs never attacked unless provoked, so them purposely setting out to attack her was very unnatural.
"Get that Ravenclaw, Caleb," Tara told Sam, "I need to talk to him."
Sam nodded, squeezing her non-burnt hand in a caring manner, he turned and left. He was relieved she was okay.

Caleb was putting on his Quidditch boots and made to grab for his broomstick when Ricardo stumbled in, looking very agitated. Caleb frowned. "Hey Ricardo, what's up?" he asked.
"T-that Hufflepuff S-Sam says he n-needs you to c-come with him..." he mumbled. Caleb frowned. Sam? Then it clicked and he nodded. Tara Finley's friend. He had to be on the Quidditch pitch for a game against Gryffindor in five minutes, though.
"Can it wait until after the game?" he asked. Ricardo shook his head. Caleb sighed and walked out of the Ravenclaw Common Room. If Sam needed to talk to him that badly, it must be important. He found him waiting outside the common room.
"Hey. I know you have a game, but Tara needs to talk to you. She says it's urgent," he told him.
"Why didn't she come talk to me herself?" Caleb asked, confused. Sam explained what had happened and Caleb's handsome Native face fell into shock.
"Is she okay?" he asked. Sam smiled with relief.
"Yeah, thankfully, but she really needs to talk to you," he replied.
----------
Caleb entered the Hospital Wing and saw Tara lying in bed, her face nearly covered in burns. Caleb pulled up a chair beside her bed. "Hey. Sam said you needed to talk to me? Not that I don't care, but I do need to be on the Quidditch pitch in three minutes and I'm already going to be late," he reminded her.
He hoped Forest Mist wouldn't become worried out in the stands and go looking for him when he didn't show up on time.

"Right! Quidditch, I won't talk long then," Tara got out, her energy was back, " But yeah, something, or someone either spooked or took control of those fire crabs, and I think you know who I mean."
Caleb nodded.
"Well, we'll talk after the game," Tara said, " I apparently need to rest anyways."
Shooing Caleb out, Tara fell asleep afterwards. In her dreams, she saw the fire crabs and fire, followed by lightning and a thin silloette with a snake wrapped around it's shoulders. The lightning scared her and she woke up. What a weird dream.

IC:
Catherine rushed to the Quidditch Pitch, furious that Matt had left her, and then she had been distracted by Sirius. As she ran down the stairs, she completely forgot that the Marauder's Map was in her pocket, and the parchment fell slowly to the ground, still showing the map of the entire school. Catherine had forgotten to clear it in an effort to get to the match on time.
Catherine was lucky to run into Caleb as she ran to the Quidditch Pitch. Recalling that he was a Ravenclaw, Catherine was relieved that he was just as late as she, and that maybe Griffindor wouldn't be minus a player that day.

Forest Mist smiled with relief when she saw Caleb walk onto the pitch. She had been about to go looking for him. She pulled her coat tighter around her; the chill wind and pouring rain was making her teeth chatter.
Caleb nodded to Forest Mist to assure her that he was alright. Madam Hooch stood on the pitch with her whistle as the captians shook hands. It looked to be a friendly match. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw usually got along and the captians were rumoured to be dating.
"Mount your brooms! On my whistle..." Madam Hooch blew into her whistle and two teams of seven lifted off into the air.
Almost mmediately, things started to go wrong...
((Caleb's going to have a dreadful accident, but if anyone else wants to talk about the stormy weather hindering their characters' playing abilities, that's fine.))

Lightning flashed outside and wind pounded at the windows of the Hospital Wing. Tara tried to pull the sheets over her head to hide from the storm. She was thankful that she wasn't outside, but still the lightning made her tremble. As the lightning flashed, so did the memories of her brother. Tears weld up in her eyes. Oh how she missed him at times like this. Why did lightning strike him? Why was he taken away from her? Her silent cries were somehow heard by Madam Pompfry and soon she was right there with a potion. Drinking it through her tears, Tara fell into a dreamless sleep.

As the wind tore into Catherine's face, she couldn't help glancing at her teamates, who all seemed to be having just as rough of a time as she. Then, when Catherine saw Matt, she panicked. He appeared to be having a tough time holding onto his broomstick. Catherine began to worry, when suddenly she saw Matt's hand slip, and he began to hang beneath his broom.
"Matt!" Catherine screamed as she abandoned her posts to go help him.
When she got to Matt, he was hanging on by two fingers. Catherine grabbed his hanging hand, and pulled him back onto his broom.
"Catherine, what in the bloody hell are you doing?!" Matt lectured. Catherine glared at him, and tore back to the Quidditch posts, hoping that no one could the tears in her eyes.

As the players kicked off into the sky, a strong gust of wind picked up, causing all the players on the field to sway sideways on their brooms. Caleb had to squint through the rain that was coming down in a steady torrent. The rain was icy and stung his face, distracting him from being able to look for the snitch properly.
Forest Mist watched from the stands, biting her lip, her green eyes filled with anxiety. She had always disagreed with the policy of playing Quidditch matches in bad weather. People could die out there, like Tara's brother. Forest Mist winced. She didn't want to think about the same thing happening to Caleb.
Caleb sped higher up into the sky, hoping to be able to see the pitch better from a higher angle, but it was useless. He could barely see five centimetres in front of his face. This is ridiculous! Caleb thought to himself. Harry Potter might be able to find a snitch in this fiasco, but I sure can't! Caleb thought to himself. He signaled to the Ravenclaw captain. She nodded and touched down to the ground to call a time-out to confer with Madam Hooch.
That was when Caleb saw white light everywhere and a searing pain shoot through his body. Then he was falling. He was vaguely aware of hitting the ground and hearing Forest Mist's scream of terror as she fell to her knees beside him before he blacked out.
((He got hit by lightning, just so you all know.))

"So, can you believe what happened to that kid on Ravenclaw?" Matt asked as he rushed to catch up with Catherine.
"Caleb." Catherine replied.
"What?" Matt questioned, a bewildered look plastered upon his face.
"His name is Caleb," Catherine said angrily before rushing off to the Gryffindor common room.
When Catherine got to the seventh floor, she was greeted by the smug look of Circe, a rude girl in the Slytherin house.
"What are you doing on the seventh floor? Couldn't find a better place to humiliate your slave, Ricardo, I think his name is," Catherine snapped. Circe then held up a map, Catherine's map.
"What? Where....Where did you get that? Did you break into my common room?" Catherine blurted.
"Didn't have to, it was laying on the fourth floor stairs when I was heading....nevermind," Circe said smugly, before stalking off.
Catherine slid onto the ground and burst into tears. She had lost the one family heirloom she had, and to the one person who could use it in the worst possible way. She had even forgotten to clear it, so Circe could use it easily. Catherine buried her head in her knees, and sobbed bitterly, not caring that all the other Gryffindors would walk by and see her.

"CALEB!" Forest Mist screamed, forgetting her shy nature and practically throwing anyone in her way aside in her blind panic and need to be beside him. She fell to her knees beside him, sobbing, and gingerly touched his handsome face that was now scorched beyond belief. He didn't move a muscle or give any signs of life.
Forest Mist gave a soft, agonized moan and gripped his hand in hers until Professor McGonagall gently tugged her away. "N-No..." she began weakly.
"Ms. Tigerchild, he needs to be treated," she told the frightened student gently. "Come. You need to be treated as well. You're in shock."
Forest Mist wasn't aware of anything other than being very numb and feeling distant and detached from everything. She seemed to look at everything around her through a daze. She absently allowed Professor McGonagall to steer her towards the Hospital Wing.

Catherine woke up in her bed, although she didn't remember getting up and moving. When she rolled over, she realized that she wasn't in bed, but on the couch in the common room, with Matthew looking at her.
"Good Morning, you OK there?" Matthew asked.
Catherine nodded. She was embarrassed that everyone had seen her cry, but she wasn't sad that she did it. After all, the Marauder's Map had meant everything to her, and now it was gone. She was so spent from her night that Catherine was ready to fall asleep again, until Matthew spoke.
"I got you breakfast from the common room, figured you wouldn't want to go downstairs today," Matthew said, handing Catherine a plate of hot food. Catherine laughed to herself, she hadn't told anyone how much she despised breakfast.
"Thanks, but I don't really like breakfast, just pop-tarts and cold cereal."
Matthew laughed, "I figured, I haven't seen you eat anything from the Great Hall in the morning since the day we met. I got you a granola bar from my bag though, hope that's alright,"
Catherine nodded. She was famished, so she eagerly ate the granola bar.
"So...um...I was just...um...wondering what happened to you yesterday," Matthew stammered out.
Catherine sighed, knowing that she would have to tell him eventually, "I lost something that's been in my family for ages. I know I'll never get it back, and it was so important to me," she explained.
Matthew nodded, and gave her an awkward, yet nice hug. Catherine's heart fluttered, before she finally settled down, laying back down and falling asleep.
