Ambra sat on the windowsill of her room, holding a cat doll in her lap looking out over the canals. She had been in a daze at dinner, still pondering over what the man, Angelo had said, she even had refused cheese after the meal. Thankfully her mama and grandparents put it off as being upset about the anniversary of her father's death.
"I wish Father was here, he knew about fantasy creatures, maybe he would know about vampires," Ambra whispered to the doll, " and what did he mean by 'his kind'? It's driving me insane!"
Then a thought came into Ambra's head. She slid off the windowsill and walked across the room to a large bookcase full of a wide selection of books. Going through the titles Ambra finally came across the one she wanted. Pulling it off the shelf she flopped on her bed, turned on her lamp and started reading.
After a while she threw the book in frustration. It didn't contain the information she needed at all. She returned to the windowsill and looked out again at the city. Maybe the bookstore would have what she was looking for. Maybe.

Marla lay on her bed, calmly thinking of what it would be like to kill Maria Sante. She hated her, although she knew that if it weren't for her, she would have been killed by the rest of the clan. That is also why she thought it odd why Lady Sophia would let Horatio, a human, be in the mansion, even if he wasn't allowed to join. Luckily, once Penelope made it through the testing, Marla would have two friends.
Suddenly the door opened, and Horatio rushed inside. "Damn, I realize they think I'm food, but do they have to try to kill me everytime they see me?" Horatio's face was flushed, and his black hair was wet with sweat.
Marla chuckled, "Be grateful they don't all hate you. Lady Maria has been trying to convince me for years to let her turn me completely, so that they would accept me. That's why I make you leave with me during the night, and wait until they all leave, otherwise they would kill me for food." Marla hated the vampires, but they knew that she would kill them all in her sleep if they ever tried anything. She still wondered why they didn't just kill her. She slept usually during the day, like them, but, yet, somehow, she couldn't help wondering, was one of them holding her back. She knew that since Lady Maria had bitten her mother, that they had some kind of pull to one another, but you couldn't say that it was love. Maybe just remorse that they shared blood.
Marla opened her door, and looked in the hallway. They must have all been in that stupid meeting. She snuck to a bedroom that she thought was Penny's, but when she opened the door to go inside, she saw a young girl, not a vampire, nor human, a half-breed, much like herself.
Marla cleared her throat, and decided to introduce herself. "Excuse me, I haven't seen you around. My name's Marla."
((Ashleigh, you can use my character, her personality is that she is kinda quiet, but quite friendly towards humans and half-breeds))

Isabelle was restlessly wandering about the Cruor Headquarters, worried beyond belief. She had expected not to be allowed into Lady Sophia's study with the "chosen" vampires, but she did not expect Armand to take so long. Had something gone wrong? Was he alright? She decided to lie down in her room to relax for a while, but to her shock, skidded right into another girl. Her first instincts taking over, Isabelle hissed and slammed the girl up against the wall, holding her by the throat. Now the vampires were breaking into her room to kill her?
"What are you doing in my bedroom!?" she snarled, baring her fangs, but the girl's scent drifted in her nose. She didn't smell like a vampire. Slowly releasing the girl, she crossed her arms and glared cautiously. "You're- not a vampire, are you?" she said as more of a statement than a question.

"No, but then again, neither are you," Marla smirked, revealing her small fangs. "I'm Marla, nice to meet you. Wait, you must be the half-breed I hear Lady Sophia talk so much about, Isabelle, right?" Marla was glad she met another half-breed, someone who probably hated killing as much as she did.
"How come I haven't met you before, I've been here since I was born," Marla said. She supposed she talked a little too much, and decided to sit on the girl's bed, and wait for the girl to respond. She pondered of how she would be able to befriend the girl, so that she wouldn't be all alone in this house. As kind as Horatio and Penny were, it would be nice to have another of her kind to talk to.

Early in the morning, Amabra left her home. The sun hadn't even peaked out from the horizon yet, but she had promised the bookstore owner, Gildo(gee-ill-doh), that she would help out with restocking today. It was oddly cold this morning, so Ambra wrapped a black zip-up sweater around her. She walked down the tiny sidewalk along side the canal towards the bookstore, the gondala's weren't out yet.
She finally came to the store after about a fifteen minute walk. It looked dark from the outside and very old and unvisted. She opened the door and walked in, a small bell rang as she walked through. The bookstore was much like it's outside, dark and seemed unvisited. The books on the shelves had dust on them which Ambra had tried to get rid of many times, but somehow it manage to come back within a day. A small old man came out from the back, he wore large glasses that magnified his dark blue eyes. He was balding, but the hair he had left was jet black and walked with a slight limp.
"Bonjourno Bella, " he greeted Ambra and gave a kiss on each cheek in typical Italian greeting, but then he stared oddly at her.
"Bonjourno Gildo, the new books are in the back already, right?" Ambra asked, noticing his stare.
The question made him snap out of his odd look, "Yes, yes, go through them, right down the titles and bring out the ones thatare on the list on the wall."
" Alright."
Ambra walked into the back of the store, which was floor to ceiling full of boxes full of books, most of these boxes had been here for ages, but one pile was new. Ambra could tell from the lack of dust. These were the boxes she was to go through for the day.
After a while of going through the books, Ambra heard someone come into the store, she waited to hear if Gildo heard, but after not hearing him greet the customer Ambra walked to the front, wondering who was here so early.

"This mansion is incredibly large. Over five hundred vampires live here. It's not so surprising we haven't met if you think about it." Isabelle said, flopping down onto her lavish canopy bed. "You're a half-breed like me. I thought I was the only one here. Why aren't you dead yet?" she asked, confused. The only reason she herself was alive was because of Armand's relationship with Lady Sophia.
"Isabelle?" a smooth male voice sounded from the doorway. Isabelle immediately recognised the voice as Armand's and her head snapped in his direction.
"What took you so long? I thought she had eaten you for her breakfast." Isabelle told him. Armand chuckled and shook his head.
"I do so admire your sarcastic jokes. I will miss it while I am away." he said fondly. Isabelle frowned.
"What do you mean?" she demanded. "What's going on?" she asked, a nte of worry in her voice. Seeing the other woman in the room, Armand merely held up a hand to silence her.
"Come now, Isabelle. Certainly I have taught you better manners than that. Are you not going to introduce your guest to me?" he asked. Of course, Armand already knew who she was. During their sleepless days together in their bedchambers, Lady Sophia had told him of the child she had only partially turned but despised, quite the opposite of Armand's relationship with Isabelle. Perhaps that was why Lady Sophia never understood his love for Isabelle. However, it was proper for them to be officially introduced.
"Oh... right." Isabelle muttered, forgetting that Marla was in the room. "Armand, meet Marla. Marla, this is Monsieur Armand De Lustus. He raised me from my birth after I was turned by another vampire." Isabelle told her. Armand smiled handsomely and gave a graceful bow, kissing Marla's hand.
"It is a pleasure to make your aquaintance, Marla." he said smoothly in a voice that made most hearts flutter.

"Oh yes, quite nice to meet you, I'm sure that nasty Lady Sophia has told you all about me," Marla said calmly. She decided that she liked Armand, as much of a smooth-talker as he may be.
"I probably should be getting back, Horatio will be wondering about me. Anyway, nice to meet you Isabelle, Armand. Isabelle, feel free to come visit me anytime, I am in the room about three doors down, maybe you can meet my friends, Penelope and Horatio." Marla started to turn away, but for some reason, felt compelled to turn around. No matter, she must be going. After all, she didn't want Horatio to be eaten.

Kevin prounced around in his fox form, growling at people taking nightly strolls. He hated the living, especially the loving living. Why should they feel all special? they shoudl feel the pain that he had felt for the past few years as a vampire, and the many years as a human! But he was strictly on order to only smell out and kill the lycans, thn he remembered, he has no silver bullets.
"Damnit.."

((Kevin, you don't necessarily have to block out your swearing since this rp is for ages 13 and up, but you can if you want to.))
Once Marla had left, Armand turned to Isabelle. "It may be nice for you to have some friends for once." he told her, crossing his arms. Isabelle scowled.
"I'm twenty-eight years old! I'm a grown woman and can decide things for myself, thank you very much!" she retorted. "Anyway, you said you'd miss me when you left... what did you mean?" she asked him. Armand sighed and sat down on the bed, putting a fatherly arm around her.
"Lady Sophia has chosen me to find one of the remaining lycan clans in Italy. This task requires me to travel to the other side of the country. You cannot accompany me." he told her solemnly. Isabelle was outraged! He'd never left her before! Never!
"Then I'll follow you!" she replied immediately, but Armand gave her a frightening look that silenced her immediately.
"You will not!" he hissed. "I only agreed to this mission because Lady Sophia guaranteed your protection within the walls of the Cruor Headquarters. The moment you leave, you will be considered fair killing. Do not destroy me by getting yourself killed." he told her quietly. Isabelle looked down, biting her lip. Of course Armand would have made sure of her safety before leaving. Lady Sophia would not break her word to him because it wouldn't be at all beneficial to her. "Isabelle? You will not leave here while I am away?" he asked. Isabelle reluctantly shook her head. Nodding, Armand kissed her forehead and stood up.
"How long will you be gone?" Isabelle asked.
"I am not certain... perhaps a moon if things go as planned. I must leave immediately. Goodbye, my dear." he said, embracing her before morphing into a silver wolf and disappearing before Isabelle could say anymore.
Isabelle truly felt alone for the first time in her life.

When Marla returned to her room, Penelope was inside crying. "Pen, what's the matter," Marla said, noticing that Horatio wasn't in the room. "H-horatio...he's been injured," Penelope sobbed, pointing to a lifeless body in the corner.
"Horatio!" Could this be her fault? After all, she did leave him in here, but who? Who would injure him without realizing what Marla would do? "Who, Pen, tell me," Marla said. "L-l-lycans, they scratched him when he was out trying to find us some food, I t-told him not to g-go, but he wouldn't l-listen," Penelope said, letting out a loud sob.
Marla walked over to Horatio, and, glad that he was still breathing, inspected the wound. It was deep, and Marla knew that unless they fixed it soon, the other vampires would find him. Not to mention, she was quite hungry too. One moment of weakness, and he would be toast.
Marla quickly bandaged the bite, and nudged Horatio. He moved a little from side to side, and then settled into a quiet slumber. "He should be fine, just as long as he sleeps for now," Marla said. She held Penelope close, and began to wonder how on earth Horatio didn't become half-blood. She decided now must be the time for this story, as attached as Penelope was to him.
"Hey, Pen, I know you have had a bit of a traumatizing moment, but, can you tell me the story of why Horatio isn't even part-vampire," Marla questioned to her still bawling friend. Penelope didn't even have slight compassion for Marla, it was just that Horatio was so close to Marla, that somehow, Penelope shared the friendship.
"Alright, I suppose so." Penelope was reluctant to spill the details, it was such an awful tale. "Well, Horatio had just been born, and they hadn't yet cut the ambilical cord. I was wandering through, looking for food, you know, same old, same old. I came across this mother, and she was giving birth. I decided I would wait, in order to eat both mother and child. Unfortunately, I was so hungry, they didn't get to cut the ambilical cord. I killed both doctors, as well as the mother, and all that was left was the screaming baby, still attached to his mother. I cut the cord, and took the child, Horatio I named him, into my arms, and held him close. I immediately fell in love, and realized he wasn't even part vampire. I guess that the vampire blood never infected him, so, I became too attached to make him a full-blood," Penelope told the story so perfectly, she could remember it like it was yesterday.
Marla went outside to find food, and managed to find an old person who looked like they were nearly dying. After finishing her meal, she retired to watching Horatio.

The Skies Above Venice, Italy
For a second Seviar had thought that his mother might be dead or just gone from him forever, but in seconds time that changed everything. "Sara! Mother where are you going?" Seviar's voice echoed sharply in a battish screech. He had seen her one second the next she was gone again, but this time Seviar knew she was flying lower towards the trees.
So from there Seviar flew, dodging tree's left and right till he caught up with his mother, "Sara, mom, what are you doing? You've been to this place before?" Seviar asked, as they continued to fly, passing evergreens, wild berry bushes, and grassy patches.
Sara glanced at Seviar for a second then back at the direction she was headed, "Yes, son I have been here, there are so many things I haven't told you, but what we must do is ask no questions. Simply follow me!" She siad speeding up.
Seviar managed to nod his small bat head, he noticed as he turned facing what was in front of him many large buildings. They were approaching a city while leaving the forest.
Several minutes passed and after flying past, through, and beside ancient looking building, Sara stopped and transformed into her real form while hiding in a nearby aly. Seviar did the same. "Mom, what is this place? And why here, how did you know about it!? What is so special about going here, I thought we were trying to escape be gone from everyone?" Seviar asked while questions filled his head.
"Ahhh son. you have so many questions, it would take me a very long time, maybe a whole day to answer them but what I can do is tell you where we are. Were at the Cruor Headquarters. Now followe and act quiet." Sara excliamed leading the way to a somewhat secret door on the side of the building, it was hidden behind a large dumbster.

Maria's senses suddenly alerted her to a newcomer in the mansion. She sniffed the air delicately. They were certainly vampires. That was good at least. Brisquely striding towards the unfamiliar scent, she came across a woman with chin length curly black hair and large deep brown eyes, with tanned skin, clearly Italian, along younger looking man looking slightly disheveled standing near a back entryway to the mansion. She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow.
"Sara. It has been quite a while." she said cooly. "I suppose you are looking for Alessandra." she said. Sara nodded, brushing herself off from her travels.
"Yes, is she here?" Sara asked. The younger man looked very confused. Maria shook her head gracefully and beckoned the two of them to follow her to her office.
"She is at the Canadian Cruor Nox Noctis Headquarters." she replied. "I just recently instated her as head of the Canadian Headquarters. I shall call for her." Maria said, pulling out a calligraphic ink pen and a piece of paper. Elegantly writing out a letter, she quickly furled it up and called for one of her vampire servants.
"Yes, Lady Sophia?" he asked, bowing low. She walked over to hand him the paper.
"Take this to Miss Alessandra Marietta Santos of the Canadian Cruor Headquarters. Read it and I will slit your throat with relish." she hissed in his ear. The vampire bowed again with a solemn face.
"Yes, Lady Sophia." he answered, morphing into a bat and taking off into the night. Maria gave the two of them a penetrating stare. "It will take a few nights for word to reach her. In the meantime, I will arrange for rooms for the two of you. Is there anything either of you wish to speak with me personally about?" she asked. "Be quick about it. I have not fed yet and I am extremely testy when I am hungry." she growled fiercely.

((Thanks Ashleigh, you did a great job with the post.))
Inside the Cruor Mansion (Venice, Italy)
Sara stared from Seviar to Lady Sophia and then back again, she had but one question. "Where are our rooms, I'm a bit tired from all of the traveling I've done today, they've prepared the coffins correct?" She asked waiting or an answer.
As they were waiting Seviar spoke, "Thank you for all the help you've given us, your very nice." He exclaimed as she showed them both down the hallway. Where was she planning on taking them?
Outside the moon slowly disapprated and in it's place the sun slowly rose, immiting light all around. Fellow vampires lurching the streets fled for darkness, they had to get out of the light, they need to get inside.

Ambra went into the front of the store to find a tall figure, taller then Angelo the young man from the night before, wearing a sweater with the hood up so that she couldn't see there face, yet something was oddly familiar about him.
"May I help you?" She asked the stranger.
The stranger shook his head and the walked out quickly once Ambra tried to walk towards him.
"That was strange," Ambra whispered to herself.
"Ambra, was there someone here?" Gildo asked as he came down some stairs in the back, " I had my hearing aid off."
"Yes, there was, but they bought nothing, they said nothing, it was quite odd," Ambra explained.
Gildo just nodded his head, "I'll stay out front now, oh and I found this book upstairs, I thought it might interest you."
Gildo handed Ambra a book, 'The Shadowlings' ((not a real book)). Ambra flipped through it quickly.
"It's about creatures of the night, you know vampires and such, thought you might like it."
Ambra's eyes lite up in wonder. This was exactly what she was looking for! "Grazie Gildo!" Ambra then rushed to the back and continued to work.
From outside, the hooded figure watched, as he watched the girl go to the back of the store, he walked away, all he could think was how wonderful his daughter had grown.
