Kevin started running for the house, noticing nothing was truly wrong. Kevin hated the fact that he was running from the lycans, savagley clawing at him as they chased him, then, one fell as a gunshot was heard. Kevin and the lycans stopped to look, one of the lycans was dead. 2 of the 4 remaining lycans jumped over Kevin and headed for the house.
"AUSTIN!" Kevin yelled, turning to a fox, jumping over the laycans infront of them, growling.
"Heh, little fox wants to DIE!" yelled one of the lycans going to claw, only to be countered with its arm bit by the fox, wuickly shaken off.

Whoa, what the hell is going on? Austin wondered. No time for that, I know Kevin is being attacked by lycans, and he can't fire a gun because he's a fox. Austin took out his gun, and fired the silver bullets straight into the lycans. All of them were now dead. "You told me you couldn't talk." Austin stated, putting the gun on the ground. "Sorry I distracted you from that lycan attack, but I needed to ask you something. How would you like to be the inside vampire for my group I made, Pennae Rebellis? All you need to do is tell me if there's going to be a huge vampire attack on the half breeds, or something like that." Austin asked.
OOC: I give Kevin permission to use Austin for his next post.

Kevin turned back into his vampire form and laughed. Kevin nodded and then took out his note-pad.
Austin read aloud, "Sure, ill help you out, and no, I dont belive there is gonna be an attack, since vampiries like Lady Sophia dont care about half breeds unless they get on her nerves, or even near her."
"Um, great news, Kevin! And thanks alot!" Austin said as Kevin gave him another peice of paper and headed back to the mansion. Austin read aloud, "Only call when there truly is an immergency. Whistle twice quickly if its urgent but not important."

Marla sighed a deep and pitiful sigh. "She seems so sad and lonely, " she said. Horatio nodded, and Penelope just growled. "She's awful, ugh," she snarled, baring her fangs. Horatio glared at Penelope, who immediately shut up.
That day, when the other two were asleep, Marla snuck out of the room, in search of a present. It was Penelope's birthday, and Marla decided to get her something that Penelope had never had before, jewelry. She knew the vampire disliked jewels of any kind, but Marla figured that if she could only steal some jewels from Lady Maria Sante Sophia, then Penelope would be happy about the gift. She noticed the door to Lady Maria's room was ajar, so she decided to enter.

Maria eyed the bloodied head with keen interest. Leaning down to hold it in her own hands, Maria sniffed the wretched thing to be sure of its authenticity and not just an illusionment charm placed upon it. Satisfied, they snapped her fingers and a servant came bustling in to promptly whisk away the grotesque treasure.
"Tokala, such success must be rewarded. Indeed, you seem to be the only half-decent vampire worthy of my attention... well, along with Monsieur Armand De Lustus." she added. "You shall be given the best guest quarters. Please feel free to stay as long as you like. Have you any other business here in Venice?" she asked as pleasantly as was possible from Lady Sophia.
Suddenly, a small disruption from upstairs near her own sleeping quarters caught Maria's attention. Her head snapping up, she sniffed the air with her superhuman senses. A scowl marred Lady Sophia's beautiful but cold face as she realized who it was. "That ungrateful brat!" she hissed, but realizing Tokala was still there, she forced herself to smile once more. "Ah well. No matter. Just a snooping thief. She shall be punished most severely later." Maria said in a sickly sweet voice.

Tokala felt honoured by Lady Sophia's comments. It was a great thing to be praised so highly.
"Thank you my Lady. Yes I do have business here in Venice, but it is my business and would rather not discuss it and this point in time," Tokala told her. Lady Sophia raised an elegant eyebrow at this. Tokala then said, " If you need my servies at all, I will gladly give them, as my business here is a small one, but for now I wish to retire to my chambers."
"Yes yes, " Lady Sophia said, "I will have a servant show you to your room."

Marla suddenly saw Lady Sophia's head. She quickly snagged a pearl necklace, and ran back to her room, almost running into another vampire, who snarled their fangs at her. When she got to her room, Lady Sophia was already there. "Didn't think you would get away with it did you, you snobby brat," she said. She grabbed Marla's arm, and dragged her to her room. Little did she know, however, that a small head had seen the entire thing.
((Ashleigh, you can take it from here, I was thinking that it could be Isabelle's head, if you wanted it to be. Just a thought.))

"Hm, I think I know what will make you behave..." Lady Sophia sneered cruelly. "That little human Horatio's life means quite a lot to you, doesn't it?" she asked in a sickly sweet voice. Marla's eyes widened in panic and she began to shake her head frantically.
"Oh no you don't!" Isabelle muttered to herself from behind the doorway. She had been wanting to talk to her anyway and now would be the perfect time to distract her. Stepping into the room, Isabelle cleared her throat. Lady Sophia's blue eyes narrowed on her electric purple ones viciously.
"What do you want?" she snarled. Unwavered, Isabelle eyed her coldly.
"I need to talk to you." she said simply. Lady Sophia bared her long fangs threateningly.
"I am busy and I've no time to cater to the needs of scum like you!" she spat. Isabelle raised one eyebrow.
"That may be so, but I am Armand's scum, nonetheless." she reminded her cooly. With a deadly glare, Lady Sophia shoved Marla out of the room.
"Get out. If you defy me again, you and your nasty little friends will be dead!" she hissed, slamming the door in her face. Whirling around to face Isabelle, her deadly expression did not change. "Well?" she demanded.
"Where's Armand and is he alright?" she asked, her voice now more worried than cool. Lady Sophia sneered.
"And why would I tell you that? You're wasting my time and consuming my air, now take your backside out of reach of my foot!" she snarled, promptly kicking Isabelle out of her bedchamber.
Once outside, Isabelle let out a sob, but bit her lip with her fang so hard, it began to bleed. Armand would not want her to weep for him. He would come back to her, safe and well. At least, Isabelle had to believe that.
Heading towards Marla's bedchamber, she knocked and was let in. "You're welcome." she told her as soon as she walked in. "Why would you be crazy enough to steal from her, anyway? That's just dumb." she told Marla very bluntly, but truthfully.

Ambra sat on the edge of one railings of the bridges the go over the canals of Venice. She held a book in her hand, the one Gildo had given her. The more she read it, the less she understood what was going on around her. She had seen the hooded man again just the other day, or at least she was sure it was him. Who was he and what did he want? She hadn't seen Angelo, but she was certain he was around as well, she could alomost feel his presence.
An old lady, who was loaded with bags full of vegetables, then came walking up to Ambra.
"Child, what are you doing?" she asked.
Ambra turned to the old lady, reconizeing her as her Nonna(grandma).
"Nothing Nonna, just reading," Ambra said.
"Well come walk with me home and help me carry these bags," she said as she handed one to Ambra.
"Ci, Nonna," Ambra clinbed down of the railing and grabbed a few more bags and walked home.
"So what's wrong child? You have been acting odd the last couple of days," her Nonna asked.
"It's hard to explain, Nonna, but odd things keep happening," Ambra said, " Like I keep seeing this hooded man, and he seems, familiar, but I am sure I have never seen him around before."
Her Nonna just nodded, so Ambra continued, " He reminds me of my dad, or at leadt what I can remember, because he is tall, and silent." Ambra paused, " Do you sometimes think my dad didn't die when we thought he did Nonna?"
Her Nonna stopped suddenly and turned to her granddaughter, "Your father is dead, understand child? There is no way around it, now stop thinking otherwise, now thats the end of that"

Marla glared at Isabelle, and replied, "Thanks for the advice, and the help. However, I stole from her in order to give a friend a proper present, and Lady Sophia doesn't need all that jewelry anyway." Marla knew it had been a stupid idea, but she wanted to give Penelope a gift of some sort, especially since Penelope never had received presents before. "Why did you decide to save me, anyway," Marla said. She had assumed from the start, that Isabelle was a loner, but she guessed wrong. The girl just shrugged. "The offer of staying here still stands, we could use each other, since Horatio and Pen are always asleep," she joked. "And, since I assume Armand is your only friend."

Ambra worked the rest of the day in the kitchen of the pizza parlour. She remained focused on her work, but every time she had a break, she thought of the way her Nonna had reacted. It was strange, very strange, as though Ambra had wandered onto something she shouldn't of.
Later that evening Ambra was upstairs, waiting for her mother to finish clean up downstairs when she heard some people talking loudly from downstairs.
Curiousity driven, Ambra quietly walked over to the stairs and listened.
" I don't know what you were expecting here Da-, " said a voice that sounded like her mothers.
"Tokala, I told you that is my name," cut in another voice. One that was dark and low.
"Whoever, you have no place here and I refuse to let you take us there. We are happy, we have a good life," her mother snapped.
"What about me?"
"You lost your choices that night, when you traded your life for what you are now"
"You mean traded my death."
"No I meant life, now get out Tokala," her mother said with a final harsh tone.
Ambra heard footsteps and ran back to her and her mothers appartment. Who was she talking to?

"Armand is the only friend I need." Isabelle hissed softly, feeling as though she and Marla were beginning to rub each other the wrong way. "So thank you, but no thank you." she insisted.
As she began to walk away, she thought of Armand and tears blurred her vision. He had never left her alone before, and although she was only two years shy of thirty, she felt like a child who had lost their parents.
----------
Armand's crimson cape swept the city pavement as he strode purposefully towards his destination. He kept to the back alleys, trying to remain undetected. A baby's cry echoed from a nearby apartment building, which reminded Armand of his precious Isabelle.
*****
The window of the third story hospital nursery slid open silently as a cloaked shadow seeped into the room. The rows of newborn infants sleeping soundly draped the room in a calming hush. The shadow silently glided among the rows, seeking out one child in particular. He found the child he was looking for. The baby carried the scent.
The shadow leaned down and gently lfted the infant from the crib. A quick check revealed that she was a girl. Her eyes snapped open, revealing a piercing yellow colour. A trait of a half-breed. The shadow materialized into a pale man with obsidian shoulder length hair. His cold eyes grew warm as they rested upon the little girl and he held her close as if afraid someone may jump through the window and hurt her. A single tear slid down the man's hollow cheek. "I am so sorry, little one." he whispered softly. "God will not punish you for my wrong-doing, I promise you that... Isabelle." he told her quietly. Yes, Isabelle was a fitting name. It meant consecrated to God.
Isabelle yawned sleepily and snuggled close to the monster who had made her what she was, unknowing. With a sigh, the man enclosed the young one in his cloak and slid out the window, not a single soul ever knowing he had been there.
*****
Armand sighed. He could not lie to her forever. What would she think of him when she found out the truth? How could Armand live with the knowledge that he was a monster in the eyes of someone he loved? Covering his face in shame, he strode on, trying to block out the memories but a vampire can never really forget.

Ambra was sitting on the window ledge in the living room of the apartment, staring at the full moon, when her mom walked in. She sighed and flopped down on the couch nearby.
"Mama, I heard yelling downstairs, what was happening? Was it the mob men again?" Ambra asked, she knew it wasn't the mob men, they hadn't bugged the family in over 4 years.
"No it wasn't, you know they don't bug us anymore," she sighed.
"Then who was it?" Ambra asked, her curiousity dying to know.
"No one you need to concern yourself with, Ambra, you got that?" her mother told her sternly.
"I saw him walk away mama, he was the same man who came to the bookstore a while ago, I know it, who is he?" Ambra demended.
Her mother's face was covered in a shocked look, "Did he talk to you?"
"No, mama he didn't, but I've seen him around a lot lately. Who is he?"
Her mother just looked away. "It's best you don't know Ambra, trust me on that one."
"BUT I WANT TO KNOW!" Ambra yelled, " HE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE YOU KNOW, AND HE HAS SOME SORT OF INTEREST IN ME, SO TELL ME, WHO IS HE?!"
"Ambra, how dare you raise your voice to me! Go to your room, now, and we will not discuss this issue again!" Ambra's mother scolded her.
Ambra knew she wouldn't get anywhere so she just stormed off into her room. She leaned on her window sill. In the distance she heard people talking, mob men, and somewhere she thought she heard a wolf howl.
Then something inside Ambra seemed to wake up. A fiery desire almost. Looking down, she realized she was only on the second floor of the building... an easy climb down. She wanted to get away from the apartment, from her mother, from the secrets. She would find the answers on her own, and what better night then tonight. The full moon almost seemed to call her out into the nighttime world.
She felt the side of the building. Swinging out the window, she held onto the ledge. Ambra then fet for some sort of ledge to stand on with her feet... then she closed her eyes and just jumped. She landed with a thud on the ground.
"Ouch," she whispered, "Now where do I go?"
Off she walked into the night.

Isabelle sat on her bed, thinking hard. Armand was gone and Maria wouldn't tell her where he was or even if he was alright. He had only been gone for a night, she could probably still track his scent down as it would be fresh.
However, she had promised him that she would stay here and remain out of trouble while he was away... Suddenly, Isabelle's sadness bubbled into outright indignation. She was twenty-eight years old! She wasn't his little baby girl anymore and he would have to realize that sooner or later. Now he was out killing lycans and only God knows what else and is probably in danger or hurt. Well, this time it was Isabelle's turn to protect someone she loved. If she was killed by a vampire or a lycan in the process, then so be it. She had never wanted to live the life of the cursed monster she was anyway. Armand had been a fool to give up his clan-title to save her twenty-eight years ago.
With that last thought weighing on her mind, Isabelle quietly eased herself out of her window and climbed down the charming, vine covered lattice into the night.

As Marla thought about Isabelle's response, she heard rustling outside. Looking outside, she saw Isabelle creep out of her room, and into the darkness. Marla knew that she couldn't possibly track Isabelle, she would easily be caught. But, she also knew that Isabelle could get hurt, and she didn't want that. So, walking over to the bed, she shoved Penelope.
"Pen, wake up. I need you to do something for me," she whispered. Penelope moaned, disappointed to be awakened so abruptly. Unlike a normal vampire, Penelope slept all the time. "I need you to transform to a cat, and follow Isabelle. Go!!" Marla shoved Penelope out the window, and watched the orange tabby trudge away. Marla knew Isabelle wouldn't appreciate, but it would be better than dying.
