Forest Mist breathed a sigh of relief after the girls called Sarah and Beth walked away to lead the new boy to the common room. "Thank goodness they've gone." she whispered as they left. Caleb just chuckled and shook his head.
"You know, those girls weren't going to attack you if you had spoken to them. It wouldn't kill you to be a little more outgoing." he told her matter-of-factly. Forest Mist bit her lip and shook her head vigorously, clearly terrified at the very thought. Caleb laughed.
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry." he apologized. "I won't pressure you." he said. Forest Mist looked down at her watch.
"I have to go. Supper in five minutes." she said, picking up her things and slinging her book bag over her shoulder. Caleb sighed.
"Could you bring me back a pasty or something? Hospital Wing food tastes like bogeys..." he said with a face. Forest Mist laughed and nodded.
"Better not let Madam Pomfrey hear you say that." she warned. "I will." she promised him. Caleb smiled handsomely and leaned back onto his pillows.
"Thanks. You're the best." he told her fondly, which made Forest Mist blush but she pushed it to the back of her mind as just being tired and not thinking straight.

"Yeah, I'm in Ravenclaw, it's my first year." Austin said, not saying how he knew. He had stolen the sorting hat and placed it on his head, but for some reason he wasn't put in Slytherin, and he was glad. He had heard the rumors about Slytherin from his mother. "We're both first year Ravenclaws as well!" said Sarah Lily. "So, do you want me to call you Lily, Sarah, or what?" Austin asked, not wanting to look like a jerk. "Just call me Sarah or Sarah Lily." Sarah replied. "Anyway, we'll take you to Ravenclaw!" the other girl said, running off. "Hey, slow down!" Austin yelled.

((megaman, sarah is my main character btw.)) Mary slowed to a stop and turned around. She really hated socializing with complete strangers. "Are you guys coming, or what?" She really couldn't believe Lily, I mean, flirting with a complete stranger. She watched as her best friend twirled her hair idly. Lily giggled as Austin talked. He was really funny. "We're coming Bethy, chill," she replied. Sometimes Mary Beth could be a bit too impatient. When they finallly got to the common room, Beth was already inside sulking. "So, what times do you have classes," Sarah asked.

OOC: I know. BIC: "I have Herbology from 9 - 10:30, Transfiguration 10:35 - 11:35, Defence Against the Dark Arts 11:40 - 12:40 Lunch from 12:45 - 1:30, Care For Magical Creatures 1:35 - 2:35, History of Magic 2:40 - 3:40, Charms 3:45 - 4:45, Astronomy 4:50 - 5:50, and Potions 5:55 - 6: 55." Austin said, thinking of how boring Astronomy and History of Magic would be. "What about you, Sarah?" Austin asked. He couldn't help but notice how she was twirling her hair, and sort of flirting with him. He didn't care, he was glad that someone actually noticed him for once.

"Oh, that's cool, I have the same classes, obviously,"Sarah replied. She wondered how it could have slipped her mind that all ravenclaws have classes together.
Suddenly, Mary Beth reappeared, with a rather frightened look on her face. "Lily, is your cat supposed to look like that?"
Sarah's mood changed drasitcally. She rushed into the common room, only to find her cat lying on the ground, whimpering in pain. She picked up her limp pet, and rushed to the the great hall. She knew Hagrid would be there, and he would know what to do.
As soon as they got to the Great Hall, Sarah Lily looked everywhere for Hagrid, then spotted Forest Mist. Sure, she was shy, but Sarah could tell that she loved animals, so maybe she knew what to do. She rushed over to Forest Mist, and after calming down, explained her situation. Surely this would work, surely someone could save her cat. She sat after her long explanation, and waited for Forest Mist to reply.

"What the hell just happened? Austin thought, deciding it was none of his business. He settled into a chair, and sat by the fireplace. The people in Ravenclaw were fairly nice, but that Mary Beth person was kind of impatient. He was too, but he wasn't as impatient as she seemed to be. On the other hand, the two were obviously good friends, and she was flirting with him. She was probably trying to break her away. He honestly couldn't blame her. Then he remembered Cinnamon, who was squawking in her cage. "Shut up, Cinnamon!" Austin mumbled, and picked up the cage. Austin then got some owl food from his bag and fed it to Cinnamon. Will that do it? He asked, going up to the boy's dorm, and placed Cinnamon next to a bed that didn't look occupied. "Stay here, and please, for the love of God, don't make a bunch of noise."

The next day when Tara went down for breakfast, she saw Craig waving to her to sit with him at the Hufflepuff table. She couldn't see Sara anywhere and because Sam still wasn't talking to her she decided to accept his invitational wave.
"What's up?" She asked as she sat down, tying back her red hair as she did so.
"Not much, just you be the first interestin' person t' come t' the table," he said with a smile.
"Interesting? I think you mean weird," she said.
Craig just laughed and tried handing her a jug of juice.
"Is that pumpkin juice?" she asked, with a suspicious eyebrow raised.
"No, apple, I 'm 'ot one fer pumpkin juice," he replied.
"Good, me neither," Tara replied.
Tara and Craig ate breakfats together, soon Sara and a few of Craig's freinds joined and they all seemed to be having a good time. At one point Sara poked Tara and pointed down the table to a grumpy looking Sam, though soon the grumpy look was gone as Diane joined him. Tara just looked away. Diane was an annoying piece of scum and Sam was being stupid. A little while after Tara got up, untied her hair, waved bye to everyone at the table at started to walk out to the grounds for Herbology.

Forest Mist was once again shocked to find the same girls who had stumbled into her earlier rushing towards her with a cat in one of their arms.
"Hey, we know you don't like people much but Sarah's cat is hurt. Can you help her?" Mary Beth asked pleadingly. Forest Mist immediately wanted to drop the food she was taking to Caleb, turn on her heel and flee, but the sight of the trembling animal tugged at her kind heart and she bit her lip, wrestling with herself. Without a word, Forest Mist took the cat and beckoned the girls to follow her.
"Hush kitty, it's alright..." Forest Mist murmered ever so quietly to the little bundle in her arms so that Sarah and Mary couldn't hear her. She dashed into the Ravenclaw common room with Mary and Sarah and led them up to her dormitory. Pernitia was there but just squeaked in fright and ran out of the room at the sight of the cat.
Forest Mist knew what was wrong. The cat had gotten a thorn stuck in its paw, probably from a careless student's potion ingredient kit. She took a pair of regular tweezers from her nightstand and gently pried the sharp thorn out of the cat's paw. The thorn was gone, but the cat was still whimpering in pain so she quickly took a quill and parchment and scribbled the name of a book on it, handing it to Sarah. "'Everyday Magical Solutions for Ordinary Pains and Injuries' by Wilfred Rosten. Page 254, there's a recipe for Murtlap solution." she whispered before handing the cat over to its owner and fleeing back to the Hospital Wing with the food she had collected for Caleb.

Wow, she left so fast, I couldn't even thank her," Sarah said, breathing in a sigh of relief. She was so glad that it was just a thorn. But, she had forgotten what she had been doing before socks was injured. But, she didn't have to wait long before Mary Beth answered her question.
"Why do you have to flirt with perfect strangers?" Beth asked annoyingly. "I mean, how does it seem to not bother you to just come up to someone you have never met and flirt with them? I've known your for five years now, Lil', and I can't understand why you just won't leave things alone with others' lives." And with that, Beth stormed off to the girl's dormitory.
"Oh well, no time to fret about that now, I have to get to the library." And with that, Sarah left to go find the book Forest Mist had told her to get.
The Library
As soon as Sarah got to the library, she noticed that it was rather cozy, exactly how she had pictured it. She just wanted to curl up there and read her Care of Magical Creatures book for hours, but she had to find that book.
"Rollins, Romi, Rosten, oh, here it is," Sarah said as she pulled out a fairly old book. She dusted it off, and hurried back to the Ravenclaw common room to study it.

Austin walked down from the boy's dorm back into the common room. He got out a book on animals, and started to read. Austin enjoyed the topic, and he was glad Hogwarts offered a class on animals, and even a class for potions! Austin would be living a dream. He was almost in a trance when the door to the common room opened, and that girl, Sarah, came in. Mary had came in earlier, glaring at him. He felt bad after word, and he hated that Mary hated him because Sarah flirted with him. He was a lover, not a fighter. He noticed Sarah was reading a book called "Everyday Magical Solutions for Ordinary Pains and Injuries". He figured she had a cut or a bruise. "Um, excuse me, Sarah... if there's anything I can do to help, I will." Austin said, blushing a bit.
OOC: I give christina2010 permission to use Austin for the response.

"Oh, it's nothing, Socks just got a thorn in her paw. You wanna meet her?" Sarah said. She had been so startled by Austin, that she had dropped her book.
"Sure, is that her," Austin said. Sure enough, Sarah's small gray tabby limped out from behind the chair. Sarah picked him up, and started stroking her. She knew that Socks loved people.
"Ah, here it is," Sarah said. She picked up her potions kit, and took out mandrake root and ground it with her pestle. She fed it to Socks, who drifted to sleep. Now, she could turn back to Austin.
"So, why were you late to school," she asked him. "Oh, it's a long story," Austin said. Soon, the two were into a deep conversation. Before Sarah knew it, she looked at the time, and it was one in the morning.
"Oh crap, we should get some sleep, it's really late, and we start classes tomorrow." And with that, Sarah headed up to the girl's dormitory. She decided that she really liked Austin.

Austin went up to the boy's dorm, and was glad to find Cinnamon had shut up, and went to sleep. Austin got under the covers and went to sleep, thinking fondly of Sarah. The next morning, Austin woke up at about 8, and went down to breakfast. He got some apple juice, and some pancakes. He couldn't find anyone he knew, so he sat in an empty place, and began to eat breakfast. The next thing he knew, it was an hour later, and it was time for Herbology. He took a seat next to Sarah, who was glaring at Mary. "It is time for Herbology. I see we have a new face here. What is your name?" the teacher asked. "My name is Austin." Austin replied nervously, and sat down. "Well then, lets get started..."
The day was essentially like that for every class. After it was all done, Austin just wanted to relax, but he had homework. Austin did his homework, but found he didn't want to relax anymore, he just wanted to talk to Sarah, but he couldn't gather up the courage. Just last night, he could talk to her without feeling, but he knew now that he honestly liked her.

While Sarah dreamed, she couldn't help thinking of Austin. He was really nice and very sweet. But, she knew that she had to make things right with Mary Beth. She headed down to breakfast a little early, and still couldn't seem to get Mary Beth to talk to her. When she got to Herbology, she manage to sit by Mary Beth. A few minutes later, Austin sat next to her, and Mary Beth just gave her glaring looks.
"Aww, Bethy, please forgive me. I didn't mean to ignore, I just got so into our conversation," Sarah said after herbology. Finally, after relentless tormenting, Beth finally spoke,"Ok, only if you promise to help me with transfiguration. You're so good at it, and I'm absolutely awful." At transfiguration, they were just learning basics, transforming paper into quills, that sort of thing. By the end of the lesson, Sarah was the only one able to ccompletely transfigure the objects, but she had managed to help Mary turn her paper into a feather, it was just minus the ink and the tip. When she looked over at Austin, she saw he was having a difficult time, and she felt bad, but there was nothing Sarah could do until her and Mary were ok first.
After all of the lessons, Sarah and Mary headed up to the common room, best friends once more. Sarah knew Mary couldn't resist being mad for long. When they arrived at the common room, they noticed Austin was all by himself in a chair, doing homework. After glancing at Sarah, then back to Austin, Mary nudged her best friend toward Austin. Sarah walked over to Austin and asked, "Do you understand this potions essay? I'm no good at potions, and I was wondering if you could help me." She had seen how good Austin was at potions, so she knew this would be a good conversation starter.
