After her short conversation with the nymphs, Keela learned of an upcoming battle. She flew until she saw faeries, and one looked like Fiera, the commander of the army Granny Nymph described.
Keela flew up to the commander, and immediately knew that this was not the type of faerie to be rude to. She decided to start simple.
"Excuse me? Commander Fiera? I'm Keela, and Granny Nymph told me about you. Well, anyway, I was wondering if I could help you with your battle. I have the power to control the plants, and I can heal small wounds. If not, that's ok, but, you can even train me if you want to. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help.," Keela said. She hoped she had been polite enough to be accepted.

Duvessa sat at the base of the tree tending the eggs, making sure they stayed warm but not too warm. Every now and then one of the other Guardians would come by and inform her of the happenings in the woods. Duvessa hated just sitting around, but she knew these eggs would be important somehow, so they were worth her restlessness. All day long she sat, the wind blowing through the willow vines above her head. It was oddly calming. For once in a very long time Duvessa felt at peace. Eve the paining fire that had burned within her since the Dragon's massacre of the forest seemed to subside, making Duvessa feel there were lighter days ahead.

After The pixie left Maia was curious where the faerie and the pixie had fled to. She left the Healing tree and set off in the same direction.
When she came to a place where there were a lot of Faeries and Elves and even humans she kept to the outside in the shadow of the trees and walked around. She saw Keela talking to an Elf. She wandered around and everyone seemed to be training for something.

((Well, my last post was after training ended, but I'll backtrack a little.))
~45 minutes before my last post~
Yet again, Fiera was disrupted by another newcomer... a pixie by the name of Keela. She too wanted a place in Fiera's army and asked quite respectfully to join, which Fiera liked but there were not very many pixies in her army... they were just far too small. She frowned, contemplating for a moment before speaking.
"I'm afraid your size would make it nearly suicidal for you to use any kind of physical combat. Believe it or not, I do not enjoy seeing death. It's quite messy and depletes my army." she said coldly, though she did not reveal to the pixie of how she cried herself to sleep for the lives that had been lost on her account after each and every battle. Only Duvessa was aware of that particular secret Fiera held under lock and key. Keela looked disappointed that she had been rejected and turned to flutter away, but Fiera scooped the pixie up into her palm to stop her (a little roughly). "However, you say you possess healing magic. Healers are extremely valuable to my army and I do not underestimate their importance in the slightest. However, I expect complete and unyielding obediance from all of my warriors, understood?"
Keela didn't say anything, but seemed to agree with Fiera as she was slowly nodding her head up and down. Taking that as an acceptance, Fiera continued. "I tell you this for your own safety. The last healer I had disobeyed my orders to stay back and heal, choosing to fight despite the fact that she had not been trained. Needless to say, Alaina died that day as a result of her foolishness. I cannot guarantee your survival in battle, but my warriors trust me with their lives and I do my best to sustain that trust." Fiera told her, hoping that the tiny pixie would truly understand that she was risking her life by enlisting in the forest's army.
"THARION! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR OPPONENT'S MOVES!" Fiera suddenly roared fearsomely. She had been watching him subtly the entire time out of the corner of her eye. Tharion nodded and obeyed her.
"Yes Commander!" he shouted dutifully. Fiera turned back to the pixie.
"You may start by healing the minor injuries during this practise. I trust that you will not try to handle something beyond your capabilities." Fiera warned before walking away to reorganize her troops and then visit Duvessa.

Keela was so excited!! She couldn't believe she would be able to help in the army. Granted, it was as a healer, but she was still going to be able to help.
Nervously, she looked around at the other warriors. They were all big, and tough. But, she could do it. She could be a warrior, after all, she had powers, and she was sure that her help could come in handy.
She followed Fiera's every order that day, and was impressed by how amazing she was. Fiera was tough, brave, but most of all, she seemed fearless. Keela immediately liked the tough faerie, and she hoped they could be friends.

(Christina, Fiera is an elf, lol.)
Kevin and Thairons battle continued on, no real blows were made, it was a completley defensive battle now. Kevin then flung the hatchet at Thairon, but changing its angle so it wrapped around his ankle, Kevin then pulled hard, but the string wasnt tight enough and the hatchet flew upward, slightly cutting Thairon's cheek. Kevin focused too much on getting the hatchet back, and the wound on Thairon's face, that he didnt notice a sudden charge from Thairon as he was forced into the tree behind him.
"Do you give up?" Thairon said, looking as if he was trying not to notice the wound.
"I dont..give up..."
"We-" Thairon started.
"I...resign. Its much more sophisticated than giving up." Kevin said, struggling to get up while laughing.

(( Christina, Fiera is an elf, not faerie .))
~ Present time again ~
"Is there news from Duvessa?" Tharion asked, absent-mindedly stroking Fiera's long silver hair while stifling a content yawn. Suddenly reminded of the eggs, Fiera sat up to face Tharion and nodded.
"Yes, actually. Important news..." and she told Tharion all about the meeting between the Guardians and the Lady of the Forest and how the mysterious golden eggs were supposed to help. She also told him of her suspicions that the eggs may contain Gold Dragns, but how they would never grow in time to be of much use in the next battle. Tharion looked thoughtful.
"The Lady works in mysterious ways, indeed only the Guardians have the power to summon her at will, and she rarely reveals herself to any other." Tharion pondered. Fiera nodded. He was quite right. Fiera had only ever come face to face with the Lady once in her life and that was at a time of complete desperation and utter despair. Everyone knew she existed, however. She was the very soul of the forest itself, you would have to be a very evil person to not feel the vibrant energy of her Being which flowed through the veins of every living thing among all the Realms.
"Yes, but you cannot breath a word to anyone about this. Only you, the Guardians and myself know of this and Duvessa wants it to stay that way. I trust you." she admitted with some difficulty. For Fiera, even simple affectionate words such as those were as difficult to say as 'I love you'. She doubted whether she would ever be able to utter those words to him, despite her heart screaming it desperately every time she thought of him. Tharion smiled and embraced her, which Fiera tentatively accepted.
"Something you should do more often..." he whispered. It was late and Tharion and Fiera said their goodbyes (rather affectionately) before parting ways.

The forest around the ancient willow was calm. The sky was clear, and the sun bright. It made Duvessa very happy as she sat alone with the eggs. Every once in a while she would turn them, and she talked to them, as though the eggs were her own (Which is totally untrue because Faeries don't lay eggs).
Pierce was going back to the Willow Tree when he heard Duvessa talking to the eggs. Not being able to help himself he made a comment.
" Practising for when you have little ones of your own?" he smirked.
Duvessa's head snapped around and she gave Pierce an evil glare. "Don't be silly! I am just looking after these things as The Lady wishes. It is not in practise for tiny sprites I wish not to have!"
Pierce just chuckled and sat down beside Duvessa, "Right 'Vess, say let me watch the eggs for a while, go spread your wings. I think sitting to long has made you go loco."
"Fine, and stop calling me 'Vess!" Duvessa stood up, stretched, fluttered her wings and flew away, leaving Pierce to watch the mysterious golden eggs.

As Fiera walked slowly towards her own home, she came across Duvessa yet again. With a twitch of her mouth that passed for a smile for Fiera, she waved and fell into step with her.
"Tharion knows of the eggs. I'm confident he will not tell anyone." Fiera said simply, not wanting to get into sentimental conversation and discussing her feelings. Faeries were very open about their feelings and had no troubles expressing their emotions. Elves were different, but even to other elves, Fiera was like a boulder: cold, unyielding and unmovable. It was good for commanding an army... not so good for relationships.
"Daddy? Daddy!" a small shout rang out into the forest. Both friends raised their eyebrows and ran towards the panicked shouts. A little elven girl, barely sixty years old was crying under a tree. It was Fiera's duty to protect the people of the Mystic Forest, both in and out of battle so she knelt down to look the girl in the eyes.
"Is there a problem?" she asked, a little more gently than was usual for Fiera, but she wasn't about to win any awards for it, either. The girl looked up in awe at the older elf.
"Y-you're Commander Fiera. My father says you're a hero..." she mumbled a little shyly. Fiera nodded without a smile. The little girl went on. "I can't find him... my father. I'm lost." she wept. Fiera recognized the girl from somewhere.
"What is your name?" she asked.
"Yali." the girl answered. Fiera now remembered who this girl was. Her mother had been a warrior in Fiera's army and died in the battle where her fox-friend Helena's death had been the alarm for an attack. She remembered her father dragging her away from her mother's body after the Farewell Ceremony.
"Come. I'll help you find your father." Fiera told her cooly. The young girl stood up and took her hand as Duvessa followed close behind. Fiera had a feeling that something was terribly wrong. She knew Yali's father and he was very protective of her. He wouldn't let her out of his sight for a moment. Duvessa seemed to be thinking along the same lines and exchanged a worried glance with Fiera.
As they neared closer to Yali's house, a coppery smell met her sensitive elf nose. Fiera knew that smell well. She turned to Yali. "Stay here." she said simply. She then stood up to whisper into Duvessa's ear. "Do not let her inside. A child should not witness this." she whispered as Duvessa nodded. Walking inside, it was as Fiera suspected. Yali's father was dead, covered in blood. Kneeling beside him, Fiera examined the wounds. They looked very much like dragon claws, but none of the rest of the house was damaged. A full-sized dragon could not have managed that. It puzzled Fiera and even though she would not admit it to herself... frightened her. She said a silent prayer to the Lady to allow his soul safe passage to the Realm of the Dead and stepped outside.
"Can I see my father?" Yali asked, her eyes wide. Fiera shook her head.
"No Yali. Your father is in the Realm of the Dead now. I'm sorry." she said with difficulty. She didn't want to be so blunt, but there was no way of making this easier. As the little elf began to cry, Duvessa embracing her comfortingly, Fiera felt responsible for this. Her mother had died because Fiera had told her to fight, and now her father was dead because Fiera had failed to do her job to protect the Mystic Forest. She was to blame for orphaning Yali and she knew it. She had repeated the cycle and Fiera saw herself in Yali, parentless, alone and frightened. She could not let this little girl face the same childhood she did. Taking Duvessa to the side, she muttered in a low voice to her. "I will assume responsibility for the child for now... until a more suitable arrangement can be prepared. She will stay with me temporarily." she said.
Fiera waited for a reply from Duvessa, desperately hoping that she would understand without her having to say it.
((In case no one clued in, Devin is the culprit.))

(Ohh, i clued in perfectly, lol. If you dont mind me giving Devin a good ol' post of how it happened, i will go ahead, but if you say otherwise, i will delete this.)
Devin started flying, then started to get hungry. "GAH! I need food... mabey a fae-riy(he dosent know how to pronounce it.) or some animals.. Hahahahah!!" Devin laughed as he landed somewhere in the forest, and saw a squirrel, nothing more. Devin took a quick swipe at it, grabbing it, then eating it alive and whole, almost as destructivley as a real dragon. "Yum." Devin muttered, as he knew someone was watching, then he heard the creature who was nearby run, then Devin heard some clanking... clanking of getting a weapon ready. Devin sped over to where the creature was, in his own home.
"I will kill you, you-you dragon menice!"
Devin laughed as he drew his claw up, then made a quick jab with his other arm, stabbing the Elfs heart, killing him instantly. Devin slashed away as he ate some of the Elf, then left the home, and flew away, back to the den, licking his claws of the blood.
Somewhere in the Forest(Kevin part)
Kevin layed against a tree, letting the sounds of the forest calm him, then, he felt a jolt in his mind, he knew what had happened.
"Devin killed something again..." Kevin muttered to himself, knowing that he could still sense the actions of Devin within him, but he didnt have the heart to notify the gaurdians, probobly because he knew they would inprison him again.
"That is correct, Kevin." said a simmalar voice.
"No.. why can i still hear you?!" Keivn shouted into the open night sky.
(this is referring to the dragon king.)

((o ya, people, it's Granny Oak, not Granny nympth, please correct yourselves >.<))
Duvessa felt sorry for the little elf, losing her parent but at the same time a smile came across her face. The thought of Fiera taking care of a youngin' was amusing to her, though knew exactly why Fiera wanted to take care of the young elf.
"Well it seems we both have younglings to watch over now, thankfully mine don't move," she said in reference to the mysterious golden eggs. She then picked up the young elf and handed her over to Fiera, if you need help though I will be glad to assist, or you can always make it an assignment for Tharion."
Duvessa smirked, she don't know why but she felt she needed to make light of the situation.

As Duvessa placed Yali into Fiera's arms, she inwardly sighed with relief that she hadn't turned the situation into a giant sentimental affair. As she walked away and took flight, Fiera looked down at the little girl who was already beginning to doze off. "What have I gotten myself into?" she groaned, rolling her eyes.
Carrying Yali back to her own home, which luckily only sustained minor damage during the last battle and was repaired fairly quickly, she realized that she needed to find someone else to adopt the youngster... and fast! She wasn't a mother, she'd be a terrible mother! Sighing, Fiera laid the girl on her own bed and placed the covers over her. Fiera ended up sleeping on the ground of the hollowed tree.
----------
A tug on Fiera's shoulder jolted her awake. Her eyes snapped open and landed upon Yali, who was kneeling beside her with a blanket in her hands. "I'm hungry." she said simply. Sitting up, Fiera crossed her arms and frowned.
"You do eat real food, right?" she asked uncertainly. Yali nodded, suppressing a giggle. Sighing, she stood up and quickly grabbed some fruit she had stored. It was supposed to be her breakfast, but it looked as though Fiera would not be eating this morning. "Here." Fiera said, putting it in front of Yali. A laugh from the doorway made Fiera turn around.
"Well, I never would have believed it. Commander Fiera, a mother." Tharion laughed, shaking his head. "Duvessa told me early this morning." Fiera scowled and talked to Tharion outside where Yali couldn't hear her.
"You know perfectly well that I'm no mother, Tharion. I don't know what I was thinking... she will be given to another family to adopt permanently as soon as possible." Fiera said coldly. Tharion sighed.
"Fiera, no one will take her. You know it's considered a curse upon a family who accepts an orphan from a violent death. No one will want her." Tharion said sadly. Fiera glared.
"Someone will take her. I cannot keep her, Tharion. I can't do this..." she admitted in a desperate whisper. Tharion chuckled and kissed her cheek.
"You can do anything. I'll look for willing families, but in the meantime I think you will be just fine." he told her.

((I would take her, but since pixies are like, six inches tall, that would be a dilema))
After training, Keela was so tired she could barely fly. She managed to fly far enough to see Fiera with a small elf in her arms. Curious, Keela flew a little farther and followed them. After listening to Fiera, Keela learned that the small elf was an orphan, and she needed parents. Too bad Keela was much too small for this job, but she did know someone big enough. She was an elf, and hated wars, but loved kids, and maybe Keela could convince her to come to the forest to take care of the youngster.
After taking a quick nap, Keela flew to her friend's location. When she got there, she saw the elf tending to a sick squirrel, it had probably been poisoned. Keela flew inside, and greeted her friend.
"Feramina!! It's been so long, hasn't it," Keela said, as she used her bubbles to heal the squirrel. "Thanks Keel, but why are you here, I'm not joining any army of yours," Feramina said angrily. The small elf was about four feet tall, and was wearing a dainty pink dress with green leaves on it.
"It's not about the army, it's about a small elf who was orphaned today. You see, her dad was killed, and her mom has been dead for a while, so I thought you would move to the forest to take care of her. She is such a sweet child, and I'm sure you could manage. Plus, I could help, I know I'm small, but I could heal yours and the youngster's wounds, and make sure you would be far enough away from the war to be safe. Please?" Keela begged. She knew her friend wouldn't be able to resist helping a youngster in need.
"Alright, Alright, geez, you don't have to be so pleading," the elf replied. She ran with Keela back to the forest, and went to Fiera's house. Knocking on the door, they awaited an answer.
((Is this ok with you, Ashleigh? Feramina is a character anyone can use, and she won't be in the army, just taking care of the child. she is kind of like the mother of injured creatures.))

((Actually, I was debating whether or not Fiera should keep her. I kind of wanted a longer wait for me to make up my mind... ))
After Tharion had left, yet another visiter came to Fiera's home. It was Keela and another woman who was an elf. Fiera nodded to both of them. "Keela, is there a problem?" Fiera asked cooly.
"Ahem, actually we are hoping to solve a problem." the woman said. "I'm Feramina, and I've come to adopt an orphaned child you currently are the caretaker of." Fiera's eyes widened. This soon? She had barely had Yali for a day and already someone wanted her? However, this was what Fiera wanted, wasn't it? She couldn't be a good mother to this child and here was someone who was willing to take her... so why was she having second thoughts? Fiera cleared her throat.
"I am Commander Fiera, leader of the Mystic Forest's army. You may come in and see her. Her name is Yali. However, I will need to speak with the Guardians about this. Children are not meant to be thrown around from place to place like sacks of grain. I trust you understand that." she said coldly, crossing her arms. Feramina gave a small bow after realizing that Fiera was an elf of high status.
"Of course, Commander Fiera. I would be glad to see the youngster and await the Guardians' decision." Feramina said. Leading her inside, the young elf looked curiously at the visitors.
"Yali, this is Feramina. She would like to adopt you. I will be speaking with the Guardians to make sure the arrangement is alright." Fiera told her. Yali looked even more puzzled.
"But- I thought you adopted me." she whispered, seeming to srink a little. Fiera swallowed a lump of emotion and shook her head.
"No, I am merely your temporary caretaker. I'm afraid you cannot stay with me." Fiera said simply, not knowing how to explain the forest's adoption system to a little girl. Yali began to cry and Fiera picked her up, handing her to Feramina. "You would be better suited to someone more able to devote attention to you. That is something I cannot do." Fiera told her. Looking to Feramina, Fiera nodded.
"I'm sure the Guardians will be pleased you are willing to adopt her. I will call for a meeting with them now." she said. As Feramina, Yali and Keela followed Fiera to the Guardians' Tree, she stepped inside and came across Pierce and Jarlath.
"Commander Fiera, what brings you here today? Come to see Duvessa?" Pierce asked. Fiera shook her head.
"Actually, I would like to call a meeting with all the Guardians. We have a pending adoption which needs your approval." Fiera told him, feeling worse and worse with each passing moment. Jarlath chuckled.
"It will take a few minutes to gather the Guardians, but I think that can be managed." he said with a grin attractive to all except Fiera. She told Feramina and Yali to stay there and wait for the Guardians to gather while she went outside to observe the repairs on the forest. Leaning against the Guardian Tree, Fiera put her head back and sighed. She was being ridiculous. She could not care for Yali and Feramina obviously was willing to adopt her so what was the issue?
"Fiera? Are you alright?" Tharion's gentle voice came from beside her. She raised an eyebrow.
"How do you always know where I am?" she asked him. He smiled and put a hand on her shoulder.
"I had a feeling you were upset, so I followed my instincts." he replied. Fiera sighed again and shook her head.
"I've found someone to adopt Yali." she muttered. Tharion smiled and nodded.
"That's great... isn't it?" he asked tentatively. Fiera nodded, despite the moisture welling in her eyes.
"Yes, it is..." she whispered, but no longer able to contain herself, she clapped a hand to her mouth and let out a sob. Tharion immediately had his arms around her, but didn't say anything. They understood each other perfectly without words. Tharion suddenly realized that this was the first time he had ever seen her cry. This realization for some reason made him hold her closer.
