This is where you can discuss the Mystic Forest roleplay out of character.
Since there is no thread or topic designated to ancient legends and mystic lore, you may delve into a bit of that in this topic as well, but be sure it relates to the roleplay somehow.
Thank you.

This is mainly directed at Crow, since she's the only other roleplayer here right now, but I guess anyone interested in joining MF can give their feedback and whatnot.
So you know how there are only six Guardians right now but there are normally seven? I was thinking of Yali becoming the seventh Guardian.
Way back in the day when I had another co-owner, said co-owner came up with the idea of the Guardians and whatnot. Her character was a Guardian and a faerie and as such, she favoured faeries, making a stupid, arbitrary rule that only faeries could be Guardians or have any kind of real importance in the RP. Then she decided that it was okay for her to break her own rules when it suited her (by bringing in an eighth Guardian to be her character's lover).
Finally, I got fed up, kicked her out and redid the encyclopedia to be fair and got rid of all her stupid rules favouring faeries over everyone else.
With Fiera's history, it seems unlikely that Yali could be thrown in her lap just because. Of course, there's another reason why Yali came into Fiera's life, but that's a personal reason to Fiera and has no bearing or effect upon the roleplay itself, just her personal character. I had always wanted Yali to hold some kind of importance in the RP, but obviously with my co-owner running things at the time, she made that impossible and squashed any ideas I had for my characters to be involved in something exciting.
So I'm asking Crow's permission to have Yali chosen as the seventh Guardian. Yes, this makes her powerful, but not free to do whatever she (or I) want(s). Yali is still only one of seven Guardians, who all have wildly different personalities and views. All the Guardians need to be in agreement for something really big concerning the Forest at large to happen (and due to their personalities, this is often difficult). Yali, being an elf, would also represent the interests of not just faeries, but all the races. Kind of like Obama being the first black president. The minorities are being represented for the first time in history and all that. Inspiring and whatnot. Yali's also still very young and therefore is going to struggle with such large responsibilities and at first, outright reject them, but she'll grow as a person through these struggles.
Okay, so that's the first part (but the biggie). The second one is about her love interest, so it doesn't really affect the rest of the roleplay that much, but I still think I should explain it.
After RPF went offline for a long time, this co-owner and myself continued the MF RP through email. In this RP, I created three new characters who were part of a minor plot and one of them would be Yali's love interest.
Treva is a seventeen year old unmarried woman expecting her first child. She was six months pregnant when I introduced her. No one knew who the father of her baby was and she was ridiculed and called a whore and was generally treated very badly (not because she was seventeen, but because she was human and not married. Humans in this RP get married usually at around 15-16 and start having children then). Well Treva had a horse named Zorbez who acted almost human-like sometimes and was very protective of her.
When Treva had her baby, he was born with hoofed feet. Anyone who is familiar with old Celtic lore knows that this was a very bad omen. The Guardians were all in a huff about it. Some wanted to abandon the baby to die, believing him dangerous and a threat to their home. Others argued that the child had done nothing wrong and that they should be cautious around the child, but not mercilessly abandon it before it had ever committed a crime. They eventually decide to let the baby stay, but remain very suspicious of the child. The child's name is Bridei and this is my planned love interest for Yali.
Later in the RP, it was revealed that Zorbez was a Kelpie and able to take human form, and was the father of Bridei. Kelpies are by nature extremely aggressive and dangerous, luring young women into the water before raping them and drowning them, but Zorbez is not that way. Zorbez loves Treva and Bridei deeply, but Zorbez must keep himself hidden as a horse to avoid persecution of his family. Kelpies are naturally evil and the forest has strong religious beliefs and superstitions. They would kill them all if they knew they were Kelpies or had lain with a Kelpie.
So yeah, I'm planning on bringing them into this RP and just briefly summarizing all of this in the RP as though it had all already happened.
I'm not too worried about that being an issue, since it's a love interest plot and not so much a whole forest plot, though it does overlap slightly.
Aaaaaaannnd wall of text over.

I think that will be a lot of fun! It'll be interesting to see all the character's personal takes.
I was thinking of making some NPCs too, or at least one. Maybe it could tie in with this subplot. Maybe they'd dislike the half-kelpie.
Unrelated question here: Is there an over reaching goal for the people of the forest? Finally achieving peace?
And can we have well developed NPC dragons who can actually communicate to our charries? XD

Well, the dragons have been out of sight for quite a while now, but I expect they'll be coming back as a threat again since the Faerie Queen plot is over. There's a "big goal" and an "ultimate goal". the ultimate goal is outlined in the MF's history, with the story of the Lord and Lady. The big goal would be for the MF to become peaceful... but that can never really happen until the ultimate goal is achieved. XD It's quite a daunting thing to achieve and is something that I never really expected to be achieved in the roleplay (though it'd be fun to try).
Yes, the dragons are all intelligent beings (though few people in the Forest actually realize this, viewing them as simply monsters). Reading Tharion's Beginning will give you an insight into the dragons' motives for attacking the Forest.
